Ukraine (UAIA)Brussels 13th July 2011: IAB Europe is pleased to announce its new Board, elected by its members during the General Assembly of June 8. The new Board, which will operate for the next two years, represents the entire spectrum of stakeholders from the digital marketing ecosystem. It must comprise 18 members each from national trade bodies and from Corporate members.
Guy Phillipson, CEO of IAB UK and Thomas Duhr (Germany), Executive Sales Manager of United Media, remain as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively. The National entities are Italy (represented by its General Manager Fabiano Lazzarini), Belgium (represented by its General Manager Patrick Marck), Netherlands (represented by the President Joris van Heukelom), Spain (represented by its General Manager Antonio Traugott, who also becomes Treasurer), Greece (represented by a board member Constantinos Kamaras), Denmark (represented by its General Manager Morten Helveg Petersen) and Hungary (represented by its General Manager Endre Somogyi). The nine countries represented on the Board reflect the broad range of markets across Europe, from mature to those still developing as well as the full diversity of culture and trends.
The Corporate representation on the Board is composed by Microsoft Europe (represented by Thomas Myrup and Laurent Delaporte), United Internet Media (represented by Thomas Duhr and Matthias Ehrlich), TradeDoubler (represented by Frédéric Prigent), Yahoo! (represented by Christophe Parcot and Chris Sherwood), Orange Advertising Network (represented by Luc Tran Thang and Ludovic Lévy), comScore (represented by Mike Read), BBC (represented by Tom Bowman), Hi-Media (represented by Cyril Zimmerman and Gabriel de Montesus) and finally Group M (represented by Ruud Wanck). The make-up of the new Board underlines the commercial and legal focus of IAB Europe while the variety of companies highlights the growing importance in the digital sector of European and US companies, media owners, agencies, research companies and technology providers.
IAB Europe has grown rapidly since its creation back in 2008 and represents today 27 National markets and 49 corporate members and is the voice for the digital and interactive marketing industry. Its structure is evolving to increase its professionalism and meet the needs of a rapidly growing market: new committees are being added working on Research, Marketing, Finance and Strategy. A team of 11 dedicated staff works closely under the leadership of President and CEO Alain Heureux.
The mission of IAB Europe remains: to protect, promote and prove the European digital industry. Their current priority is addressing the pressure from governments and European institutions on the legal framework. The success of self-regulation will become crucial to safeguard the continued development of services and products on digital platforms.
Alain Heureux says “I am delighted to have such experienced and dedicated people on the IAB Europe board for 2011-2013. Our industry faces many challenges but our reinvigorated organisation has the skills and commitment to meet those challenges and continue to see the digital advertising sector expand and innovate.”
