About IAB Europe

Established in 1998, there are now 22 national IABs (soon to be 23) with 90 staff who represent their industry at both national and European level. Our country membership grows all the time.

IAB Europe has five key objectives:

1. Protect the interests of our members through a proactive public affairs programme
2. Set the right standards to govern our industry and support its growth at pan-European level
3. Benchmark and understand the development of the online advertising industry
4. Establish guidelines and best practices to ensure that our national trade associations function as efficiently as possible
5. Raise awareness of industry issues through effective press relations.

What we’ve achieved so far:

An impressive membership: We are proud to be able to say that IAB Europe is the only body that truly represents the European interactive industry. Our membership has grown from very humble beginnings in 1998 to 18 country members with a waiting list. We represent over 5000 corporate members.

An active public affairs programme: IAB Europe's public affairs team follows developments impacting interactive marketing from data protection to consumer confidence. We have an impressive record of getting our message across to the key decision makers in the European parliament.

Setting standards: We have an active task force programme that tackles the issues that matter in our industry today. Working groups are not talking shops – they establish standards and best practice guidelines that are crucial to support the growth of our dynamic industry at pan-European level.

Industry leading events: Our Interact Congress, held annually in a major European city, is renowned for attracting high profile speakers, delivering a thought-provoking conference programme and break-out sessions and offering unrivalled opportunities to network with the movers and shakers in our industry.

Benchmarking & ground breaking research: Our annual AdEx report is the definitive guide to the size and scale of the European online interactive industry. Used as a reference source throughout the online world, the report covers advertising spend and growth rates by country, vertical market sector and advertising format.
